Performing at the Louth Jazz Club

New Bands

Please email Alastair if you are not yet booked in but would like to be considered, we are always looking for new bands across the entire jazz genre.

Visiting Bands - Welcome!

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the Club for the first time or, in the case of many of you, back to the Club for a repeat visit. We have recently updated our website and have added this section of useful information for you.

How to get here, parking and dropping off your stuff!

The Club has its own premises within 51 Queen St, Louth, LN11 9BJ.  You can park momentarily outside to drop off equipment but you will need to park up in the nearby car park
The Club room is on the first floor and the stairs are quite narrow, sorry!

Refreshments

We offer a free first drink to each band member, but we ask you to pay for drinks after that.  We are a small Club, always up against it, so have to watch our costs very carefully.

Thanks for your understanding!

Timings / setting up

Our usual event timings:

Doors & Bar from 18.30
First set starting 19.30

Interval 20.30 (inc raffle)

Second set 21.00

End 22.00 (or a bit later if an encore is demanded!).

We suggest you arrive from 18.30 to set up and do a sound-check.

We can accomodate 20.00 start time for bands with further to travel - please arrange with Alastair

Audience

Our new website allows people to book and pay online in advance - you will get a link to share with your followers.

People can just turn up on the night, which is fine by us.  Numbers can be unpredictable; if there is another event in town or the weather is really bad, for example, numbers can be affected.  Rest assured that we all work hard (as volunteers, of course!) to fill the place!

Stage / PA / Piano

The elevated stage is of a good size, big enough for bands of up to 8 players.

We have a good PA system controlled from the back of the Club room, John can help with set up and balancing.

We have a piano but it is not top quality!  Some bands get on with it but many prefer to bring their own keyboard.

Payment

You will be paid in accordance with whatever is agreed with, at the end of the gig.

Bands who help to generate the audience are welcome to negotiate a payment that includes a share of ticket sales.

New Bands :)

We are always looking for fresh blood at the club to keep the Jazz genre alive - so whether you are young musicians starting out on your performing careers or experienced performers looking for a new venue & audience, Louth Jazz Club is open!

We have a regular programme of traditional New Orleans/Dixie music, as that’s where our roots are, but our members are open to other styles too, as long as there is a jazz feel to what you do. If you could hear it in New Orleans, let's listen to it in Louth! When you contact Alastair please include links to any Youtube or other videos that showcase your work and we will be in touch.

Thanks!

Thanks for your support for the Club – we really appreciate it! The Club is run entirely on a volunteer basis, with committee members dedicating a lot of time to keeping the place going, as a focus for the music we love and, maybe just as importantly, as a meeting place for like-minded people.

Keep music LIVE!
